Organisation Profile	Coalition for Sustainable Development –CSD, is a Macedonian non-governmental, non-profit and non-political association of citizens. Officially registered on 2nd August, 2007, CSD is fairly young, but in a same time well established organisation. It was founded in compliance with the principle that associations are based on the concept of “groups”. But the group is consisted of individuals. Therefore, the capacity of the group is closely connected with the commitment and capacity of its members. Our membership is composed of results-oriented people, hands-on professional, with a successful record of accomplishments in organisation, management and implementation of a number of projects supported by international donor agencies.

MISION	Our mission is to initiate, promote and implement activities for sustainable development in Macedonia, and wider in the Region by bringing together and working in partnership with the governmental and civil society actors to achieve meaningful and sustainable development in the society.

APROACH	Our strategic approach is based on and further develops on combining creative with professional potentials in order to uphold meaningful improvement. This approach is founded on the basis that social and cultural development can only be achieved in combination with cultural change, and vice versa. A perfect, but not implemented plan is not our goal!

AREAS OF ACTIVITY	As defined, sustainability provides for current needs without sacrificing the needs of future generations. Our economy, society and ecology are interdependent. Optimising all three is often described as the “triple bottom line”. Yet, for better stability of this “triangle” a forth pillar is needed. And the fourth pillar is culture. “Squaring the triangle”, so to speak. More than ever, the concept of sustainable development is central for human development, democratic governance and tolerance and understanding Main areas of activity include: Local development and planning, Campaigning and advocacy for sustainable development — public behaviour and cultural change; Research and education for sustainable development; Culture and heritage:, Networking and information dissemination.
